TIRANA, May 30 /ATA/ In celebration of International Children’s Day on June 1st, the Albanian Parliament opened its doors on Friday to young visitors. The plenary session hall was transformed into a vibrant and educational environment, offering children a unique opportunity to engage firsthand with the workings of the Parliament and understand its vital role in citizens’ lives.
The highlight of the event was the rollout of the Children’s Constitution, a new publication by the Civic Education Service aimed at bringing the core values of the Albanian Constitution closer to younger audiences. Presented in simple language and enriched with illustrations drawn by children themselves, the edition serves as an engaging educational resource for teachers and students alike. Its goal is to introduce children to the foundational principles of justice, equality, and human dignity.

Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali extended a warm welcome to the children and teachers present, highlighting the significance of shared dedication to building a brighter future for the younger generation. She read aloud the preamble of the *Children’s Constitution* and handed out copies of the publication, urging the children to embrace it as a guiding resource in learning about their rights and responsibilities.

“We Albanians are proud of our history and committed to our future. We believe in God and in the values that make us better citizens. We strive to live in peace and to respect the dignity of every individual,” said Spiropali.
The Albanian Parliament will continue to support initiatives that promote the rights and well-being of children, contributing to a more inclusive and just society for the youngest members of the community. /j.p/sm/
