Olympic champions Majlinda Kelmendi, Nora Gjakova and Distria Krasniqi were also in attendance of this promotion held at the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) in the govt. building.

Rama said that “today we promote the book “Chief Master” and the characters of the book are among us, of course the chief master is a character, but without the other characters his mastery cannot be understood.”

“I’ve done some homework, I’d like to trigger the conversation, hoping that we can get something more out of what is said in the book, and definitely believing that through this conversation, others will also be fascinated as they will immerse themselves into this story, which in my view is not only about a master of sports, but there is more than that, it is a remarkable story of passion, ambition and perseverance to achieve the unimaginable. I believe that only in Dritoni’s time could there have been the ambition to bring gold medals from the Olympic Games to Kosovo,” emphasized Rama.

Rama asked coach Kuka what went through his mind at the moment when the athlete he had trained, Majlinda Kelmendi, was declared champion in the discipline of judo at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016.

Coach Kuka said that “in 2009, Majlinda was declared the champion for young ages and has taken the sports world by storm. After 2009, for 4 years we did not win any elite medal. For a moment I had dilemmas whether I will be able to produce a world champion for young women.
The year 2013 was the turning point when Majlinda was named the world champion, other achievements ensued, then I started dreaming about the Olympics. After the 2 world titles, Majlinda’s superiority has made me dream of the Olympic medal as well.”
