TIRANA, August 16/ATA/ The historical center of the village of Qeparo, located on the coast of Himara, is one of the most important cultural heritage areas.

It reflects a rare harmony between architecture and natural landscape. Located on hills with stunning views over the Ionian sea, it preserves the memories of a simple Mediterranean life and the rich cultural heritage of the area.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media the promotional video of Pandeli Ceco, participant in the International Photography and Video Reels Competition “Wanderlust in Albania 2” organized by the National Tourism Agency.

“A journey to Qeparo, between the blue of the Ionian sea and the greenery, with the invitation for a walk through the cobblestone alleys of the old village, where the stone preserves the memories of centuries, while the aroma of citrus fruits embraces you with its freshness”, wrote Rama in the caption attached to the images.

The historical center of the village of Qeparo preserves an urban layout and a characteristic ensemble of houses from the 18th-19th centuries, which reflect the traditional way of building in coastal areas.

A characteristic of the historical center of Qeparo is the cobblestone road network. The streets reflect the way the city was socially and economically organized.

Qeparo is one of the oldest villages on the Albanian coast and offers evidence of the life and culture of the local inhabitants over the centuries. The historical center of this village includes several declared cultural monuments, among them traditional houses and religious buildings. /m.m/ /a.g/p.s./
