TIRANA, December 6 /ATA/ Albania is among four countries in Europe implementing the new version of the JEE 2021 (Joint External Evaluation).

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare said that with the support of WHO and international experts, there were evaluated 19 key areas, from surveillance and laboratories, to biosecurity, emergency response, risk communication and food safety.

According to the ministry, the field visits and discussions with our multi-sectoral teams yielded a complete evaluation of the country’s capacities: strengths, challenges and steps needed to further improve.

The ministry said that the JEE findings will also serve in the drafting of the National Action Plan for Health Security, a cornerstone for an Albania better prepared for any emergency. /e.i/ /a.g/p.s./
