The film follows Sosuke, a young man who, after losing his family, finds solace and self-expression through the traditional Japanese art of sumi-e, or ink painting. Under the guidance of master Kozan Shinoda, he learns to see beyond grief and reconnect with the beauty of nature and life.

The screening marked the start of a cultural program highlighting modern Japanese cinema beyond its well-known animation industry.

The festival runs through October 18 as part of Japan Cultural Week, with films shown at venues across Tirana.

Upcoming titles include Neko Ninja, Between Us, and Takano Tofu, each exploring different aspects of contemporary Japanese storytelling and aesthetics.
