Gross written premiums reached 17.9 billion leks, up 9.53% from the same period in 2024, the regulator said. The number of insurance contracts rose 6.1% year-on-year to 1,116,204.

Non-life insurance continued to dominate the market, accounting for 91.6% of total premiums, followed by life insurance with 8.4% and reinsurance with 0.03%.

Mandatory insurance made up 61.8% of the market, while voluntary policies represented 38.2%.

Gross claims paid amounted to 5.47 billion leks, down 2.3% from a year earlier, while claims in motor insurance rose 2.6% to 4.19 billion leks.

The Financial Supervisory Authority said the figures reflected a positive trend in insurance coverage and growing public and business confidence in the sector.
