Rothe noted that she noticed and sensed Albanians’ hospitality on her first visit to the country a year ago.

“It’s a warm feeling, you feel very welcome and you have the opportunity to make direct contact with people. For me personally, this is the essence of good hospitality. This has made us put Albania on our focus as one of the few important countries that could host ITB Berlin,” she said.

“As a host country of the ITB Berlin fair, you are also the host of the whole world, namely the entire tourism industry, and by that I mean the nearly 100,000 people from all over the world who will travel to Berlin to use the fair as a platform for their businesses,” Rothe added.

The Head of the world’s leading travel trade show, noted that Albania did well, during the pandemic in particular, to come on stage of the world tourism as a very safe and open minded country, attracting a growing number of international visitors.

She noted that a lot still remains to be done to improve tourism framework, yet Albania is on the right track.

Rothe highlighted a series of ongoing infrastructure projects that will draw more international visitors to Albania in the coming years, including the new international airport in the coastal city of Vlora, and construction of the railway line to allow visitors travel throughout the country.

Albania is the host country of ITB Berlin for 2025, the world’s leading travel trade show.
