The high order was handed over to Agaçi by the Italian Ambassador to Albania, Fabrizio Bucci, during a ceremony at the Italian Embassy in Tirana on Wednesday.

Speaking in Italian, Agaçi focused on significance and importance of this very high recognition, describing it as a sign of “belongingness” in the pure spirit of the knightly orders from which the “Order of Merit” itself has its origins.

For the high-level official of the Albanian government the recognition is a reward for the years of living, working and contributing to the neighboring country.

The Italian Order rewards merit in the fields of science, literature, arts, economics and public service as well as social, philanthropic and humanitarian contributions.
