TIRANA, October 30 /ATA/ The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has made available a digital platform for those passionate about Albanian iso-polyphony. It is as rich as it is entertaining to understand the history and the play of voices of this “World Cultural Heritage” of UNESCO.

Entitled “Take up an Iso”, this platform is also in English.

In a post on social networks, Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro said that, “As it is Sunday, I want to share with you one of the beautiful things of the work we have done. It seems as if we all know Albanian iso-polyphony, some feel it more because we were born and were brought up with it, like me; some are used to this sort of music that today is part of the “World Cultural Heritage” of UNESCO, making it heard in all festivals and cultural activities; some are curious to understand how this song is performed with many voices, where each voice is unique, unrepeatable, irreplaceable and with its own role and time”.

“The Ministry of Tourism and Environment offers you this digital platform, as rich as it is entertaining, to understand Albanian iso-polyphony, its history, the play of voices. You can learn to sing, too! My favorite is “Daughter of the Waves”, extraordinary lyrics of the mountain and the sea, Himara iso-polyphony. And you can share it with foreign friends because the platform is in English, too! Congratulations to MEDIAMIX for this accomplished work and to all the collaborators who made it possible”, said Kumbaro.

17 years ago, on November 25, 2005, Albanian folk iso-polyphony was declared a “Masterpiece of the Oral Heritage of Humanity”, protected by UNESCO. Therefore, this date is a historical day, for the entire Albanian cultural heritage, but also for Albania itself./p.s./

TIRANA, April 22 /ATA/ The ceremony of receiving ISO certifications took place at the premises of the Durrës Port Authority.

After a voluminous 12 months of work, the Port of Durrës successfully passed the two phases of audit by the certification body (Quality Austria), for 4 international standards:

ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality Management,

ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental Management,

ISO 45001: 2018 – Occupational Safety and Health Management,

ISO 50001: 2018 – Energy Management.

These certifications are clear indicators of the increase in the quality of services offered in the Port of Durres, as well as a positive message for international customers and users of the Port.

General Executive Director of the Port Authority Pirro Vengu said that “The standardization of port services according to international requirements and references is not only an assessment for the Port Authority, but also a guide for the progress of major investments of the Tourist Port in Durrës and the new integrated Port of goods in Porto Romano ”.

According to him, this very important process will continue with other necessary standardizations related to port activities.

A few days ago, the Port of Durres was admitted to the European Sea Ports Organization (European Sea Ports Organization), which includes 22 ports of the European Union./k.s//a.a/p.s./
