Albanian Foreign Minister attends meeting of global coalition against ISIS

TIRANA, Sept 30 /ATA/ – After participating in a series of events during the UN General Assembly high-level week in New York, Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani travelled to Washington, D.C. to attend a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

This meeting, chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, brings together representatives from 87 member countries to discuss pressing issues s part of the efforts in fighting ISIS.

The coalition aims to strengthen global efforts in combating the ongoing threat posed by ISIS. The ministers will discuss critical issues surrounding security, cooperation, and strategies to tackle terrorism.

“This meeting is an essential step in uniting our efforts,” Hasani stated. “By coming together, we can reinforce our strategies and enhance our response to this shared concern.”

Xhaçka: Albania’s devotion for eradicating ISIS remains unwavering

TIRANA, June 8/ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka is participating in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Global Coalition for the Destruction of ISIS (D-ISIS), where there are taking place important discussions.

In the meeting held in Riyadh and co-chaired by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, there are being discussed strategies to fight ISIS networks and their extremist ideology.

“Albania’s commitment to collective efforts to eradicate this global threat remains unwavering. United, we will fight terrorism for a peaceful and safer world”, Xhaçka said in a post on social networks.

The meeting of the foreign ministers of the participating countries of the Global Coalition of the war against ISIS constitutes an important and contributing event in the orientation, unification of global efforts, expression and reaffirmation of the determination and commitment of the partner countries in the Coalition, for a lasting victory against international terrorism, on the basis of implementation of the requirements of the law and international acts, especially the resolutions of Security Council of the UNO./k.s/p.s./

Global Coalition against ISIS / Xhaçka: Fighting violent extremism, one of Albania’s priorities in Security Council

TIRANA, June 28 /ATA/ – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka attended Monday the foreign ministers meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS, in Rome, co-chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy and the U.S Department of State.

Senior representatives from 73 participating countries in the Coalition affirmed their commitment to continue increasing their humanitarian and financial contribution in close collaboration with the United Nations Organization and other international partner organizations in order to sustain partner forces’ efforts against Daesh/ISIS, and significant support for the recovery of areas liberated from Daesh/ISIS and prevent its resurgence.

“Fighting violent extremism is one of Albania’s priorities while serving as member of the United Nations Security Council during 2022-2023. This meeting is proof of our commitment to continue the fight until Daesh/ISIS is eradicated,” Xhaçka said.

Xhaçka affirmed Albania’s commitment to contribute to the Global Coalition and restoring peace in the conflict zones.

In a joint communique, the Ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS called on the Coalition partners to be vigilant and work together against any form of terrorist threat, in any region of the world, in full compliance with international law.
