Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social networks views of the school premises.

PM Rama highlighted that the new school meets European Union standards, featuring a rich library, modern labs, a gym, and outdoor areas for students, staff, and the local community. Built with funding from the KfW German Development Bank and implemented by the Albanian Development Fund, the facility offers a secure and inspiring space for comprehensive student development.

Designed as a community center, the school offers 12 classrooms, three kindergarten facilities, six indoor gym labs, a library, an activity hall, and an outdoor sports field. /k.s/j.p/p.s./

He met with representatives of “Recycle Albania”, a key actor promoting concrete actions on circular economy initiatives and youth education in the area.

The OSCE Ambassador also spoke with representatives of Ishëm Municipal Unit to get a deeper understanding of local environmental challenges and priorities in addressing them.

Tarran also met with Denisa Kasa, a youth representative who is actively mobilizing over 150 young people for river clean-up actions and raising awareness about pollution and nature protection.

The visit also included observations of pollution on the ground in Ishëm River Delta – one of the most critical environmental hotspots in Albania.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media on Monday to share images of the castle built between 1572 and 1574, and declared first category monument in 1977.

The Albanian painter Ibrahim Kodra was buried in front of the Castle.

The renovation works at the castle under the EU4Culture programme, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, were conducted in 2023.

The renovation works included the Castle’s fortifying walls, consolidation of the terrain and the landscape inside the Castle.

Constructed between 1572 and 1574, the Castle of Ishmi once had a key role as a strategic Ottoman defense stronghold. Positioned to overlook the Ishmi plain, Kruja-Dajti mountains, Ishmi river delta, Cape of Rodon, and part of the Adriatic Sea coast, the castle played a crucial role in monitoring roads and preventing unauthorized trade with the Venetian Republic.

Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote in a post in the social media on construction of the road where he also shared pictures of the works being carried out on this road.

“The Thumana – Ishëm road will be according to the proper standards offering a new road access to the users of the vehicles as well as one more opportunity for the residents of the local area and the rural economy”, emphasized Rama.

This road is 6 km long and is expected to be up the proper standards. /k.s/p.s./

Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako inspected today the works that are being carried out for the reconstruction of the school.

“The reconstruction of this school includes a new roof as well as the building’s fence, and this school will be ready to open its doors for its students in September,” said Sako.

Sako emphasized that, “The school of Draç and 6 other educational buildings in different areas of the municipality of Durrës are being reconstructed with the funds of the municipality and will be ready to welcome students in the new school season”.

In context of the Reconstruction Program, the Ishëm administrative unit has benefited 3 new schools and a kindergarten, of which 2 schools have been completed, while the new kindergarten will be ready in October. /k.s/r.e/p.s./

Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako said today that there were 6 fires which were extinguished by the forces on the ground, while the seventh fire is located in a difficult area due to dense vegetation and a very broken terrain.

The strong wind has made the work of the teams on the ground even more difficult. In order to neutralize this fire yesterday, there was sent a helicopter in an effort to put it out.

Mayor Sako emphasizes that, “The situation is under control, the flames have been minimized, but the hearth is still active, so today the firefighters have started work to open a trail so that the teams on the ground can go as close as possible to the hearth and completely extinguish the fire”.

“We are on the ground, monitoring the situation and working to extinguish all fires. Gratitude and respect for the firefighters and the army forces who try to extinguish the flames every day” – said Sako. /k.s/p.s./

The Medical Center was severely damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019 and was built from the scratch after collapse of the old building.

Prime Minister Edi Rama posted photos in the social media of the Medical Center in Ishëm before and after the reconstruction.

“Here’s another medical center, that of Ishëm, built anew from scratch after the earthquake, with the best standards for the 8000 local inhabitants of this area and the tourists who will be more the upcoming summer”, said Rama.

In context of the reconstruction program, the damaged medical centers are rebuilt according to modern standards.

The new Ishëm Medical Center was built with the support of the Swiss government, through the Health for All Project, under the Reconstruction Program./p.s./

Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako inspected today the works in the area of Ishëm where the new neighborhood will be built.

In this area, the “Albanian Root” association will build 44 houses, a library and other service units.
