According to the General Directorate of Taxes, during the 9 days since the start of the action, there have been carried out 151 controls and there have been blocked 63 tons of agricultural and livestock products without invoices.

General Directorate of Taxes has appealed to companies to implement the tax laws, requesting the fiscal invoices at every link in the food chain.

This action is the result of close cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as relevant structures, to formalize the agricultural sector and improve control over food safety.

According to official data, almost half of the fiscalized businesses or 6449 are located in Tirana and 1544 in Durres. Also, the largest number of fiscalized businesses include the trade and services sector.
