TIRANA, July 14 /ATA/ As of today, inspections will commence nationwide targeting taxpayers who sell food and livestock products, with the goal of both formalizing the sector and safeguarding food quality for consumers.

On July 7th, the Tax Administration notified around 12,000 taxpayers through its official website and pop-up messages in their e-Filing accounts, urging them to accompany every product with a fiscalized tax invoice.

They are warned that failure to comply will result in penalties as stipulated by law.

The General Directorate of Taxes reminds that every agricultural and livestock product held and sold must be accompanied by a fiscalized purchase invoice, clearly identifying the seller and the product’s origin.

Additionally, every product sold to the final consumer must be accompanied by a fiscalized invoice that accurately reflects the product’s name and price.
