The news was announced by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, during a meeting in Dropull, Gjirokastra, with wheat and corn farmers, where they talked about the production in the country and the rewarding results of both crops this year.

“Together with the Center for the Transfer of Agricultural Technologies of Shkodra, which specializes in corn technology, we saw first-hand the progress and discussed the treatments with the farmers near the Beqari farm, which cultivates 500 ha of grain,” says the minister.

She emphasized that the work done on the Zhulat irrigation ditch in Gjirokastër and especially the irrigation ditch linked with the Doftia reservoir in Dropull, as well as the partial rehabilitation of 3 dams in the Dropull municipality, has gotten things right, carrying the water to the plots after many years.

“I informed the farmers that we have requested from the Commission that the IPARD III Program enables investments in agricultural machinery or collection points for grain crops, as we make it possible today for vegetables and fruit growing,” said Krifca.
