According to the Bank of Albania, the share of Albanian government securities (treasury bills and bonds) in the banks’ portfolio has increased by 8.4% since beginning of the year to the end of July, registering a 9.8% year-on-year increase.

According to official data, commercial banks were the main purchasers of new debt issued whether through domestic euro-denominated bonds or Eurobonds.
