Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha hosted Monday the Ambassador of Greece to Albania, Konstantina Kamitsi, to discuss ways for stronger security cooperation, particularly focusing on measures and the need to ease border crossing procedures between the two countries, as the number of Albanian migrants returning back home to spend holidays with their families is increasing.

“As part of efforts to improve service delivery to the citizens, I highlighted the need for enhanced communication between the police and customs authorities, as well as the need to increase Greek border personnel during the periods of high influx of movement,” Interior Minister Hoxha said in a post on the social media after the meeting with the Greek diplomat.

“We expressed commitment to boosting cooperation and tackling common challenges to the benefit of the citizens in both countries,” Hoxha added.

Interior Minister Hoxha praised German Ambassador for his readiness to contribute to stronger and consolidated relations between the two countries.

Interior Minister assured German diplomat of his commitment to further deepening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, and readiness to enhance joint investigative and operational actions between the police and law enforcement agencies of both countries in the fight against organized crime.

“German Ambassador voiced his support for the police and security cooperation between the two countries,” Interior Minister Hoxha said in a post on the social media.
