TIRANA, Nov 13 /ATA/ The inaugural joint meeting between the governments of Albania and Italy was held on Thursday in Rome, resulting in the signing of 16 agreements.

In his address at the joint press conference alongside Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Edi Rama highlighted initiatives and projects in the energy sector.
“We are undertaking one of the largest energy projects in Europe, which is advancing to enhance Europe’s energy sovereignty through the interconnection line between Albania and Italy, with the involvement of the United Arab Emirates,” stated Prime Minister Rama.

Prime Minister Rama also emphasized that “we are working on a major project connecting the East with the West, which will involve countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, and Albania, and which holds significant strategic importance.”
He further highlighted agreements in the cultural sector, noting that an Italian art museum will be established in Albania.
“If culture were not part of this, Italy would not be involved,” stated Prime Minister Rama.

Speaking to the Italian Minister of Culture, he added, “After many years, we have finalized a concrete agreement to connect a major European institution, Rome’s MAXXI, with our National Gallery. I hope that the Italian Art Museum in Albania will become another tangible example of our collaboration, and I look forward to you inaugurating it.”
