TIRANA, Feb 7 /ATA/ – The Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu said Tuesday that number of healthcare centres providing integrated care services will grow to further improve health and social care for the citizens across the country.

Via a post on the social media, Health Minister highlighted the example of Andi Petro, one of the psychologists already providing psychological and social care, a key component to support communities. Petro has joined the team of psychologists already providing care in the first 50 health centres delivering integrated care services across Albania.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection is reorganizing the primary care system as part of the National Strategy on Primary Care in a bid to focus more on the integration of socio-health services.

Last October, the Ministry of Health launched the call for the employment of 50 psychologists to deliver inpatient socio-health care.

The team of 50 psychologists will attach the healthcare centres to treat mental health issues and other sensitive health conditions of a primary importance to the community as such care services are directly related to psycho-social, psycho-emotional welfare and also the support that employee profiles should offer, such as psychologists or social workers in health care institutions.
