According to INSTAT, during the month of May, over 1.6 million Albanian and foreign nationals entered the territory of our country. This figure represents an increase of 4.3% compared to May 2024.

“INSTAT highlights that over 987,000 foreign visitors entered Albanian territory during the past month alone, marking a 1.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024.”

According to INSTAT, 95% of foreign visitors are from the European region, with Southern Europe accounting for 72%, followed by Western Europe at 14%.

Holiday arrivals account for 98% of cases, with this indicator recording an increase of 0.9% in May of this year compared to May 2024.

According to INSTAT, during the January-May period of this year, our country was visited by 3.4 million foreign tourists, representing an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period in 2024.

Tour operators’ expectations remain high, particularly during the summer months, when Albania records the highest tourist influx.

According to the report published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), the region with the highest number of foreign nationals entering Albania is the European region with 9,727,538 citizens followed by America and East Asia/Pacific, respectively with 240,925 and 66,689 citizens.

In 2023, compared to 2022, the arrivals of foreign citizens increased, for personal purposes by 34.9%, for purposes of holidays, visiting relatives, etc. by 35%; for business and professional purposes by 17.6%.
Only in December, the number of foreign citizens who entered the Albanian territory reached 616,994, marking an increase of 57.6%, compared to December 2022.

While the number of Albanian citizens who left Albania in 2023 is 6,913,347, increasing by 17.5%, compared to the previous year.
