INSTAT reports that the Albanian economy grew by 5.53% in the first quarter of 2021.

According to INSTAT, economic growth was driven by the contribution of industry sectors by 2.56%, construction by 1.09% and health and education by 0.97%.

Agriculture, forestry and fishing activity increased by 0.09%; industry, energy and water activity increased by 23.81%; construction activity increased by 16.87%; The group of trade, transport, accommodation and food service activities decreased by 0.93%.

INSTAT reports that communication recorded an increase of 4.94%; Financial and Insurance activity increased by 16.94%; Real estate activity increased by 8.65%; the group of Professional Activities and Administrative Services recorded a decrease of 3.14%; The group of activities of Public Administration, Education and Health increased by 7.45%, group of arts, entertainment and recreation activities; the group of other service activities increased by 7.79%.

According to the main components of aggregate demand, the most positive performance this quarter was recorded by investments, especially those related to the reconstruction process and construction activity in general.
