During a conversation with citizens in Berat, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced some of the new projects to support agri-tourism.

“We have maximally facilitated the small enterprise with zero taxes, zero VAT and a small guesthouse is also included into this category. Certainly, you are right to take this process step by step”, said Rama.

He added details of projects in support of new businesses.

“The first is a project for which we signed the agreement during my last visit to Turkey for Berat and Gjirokastra for a more consolidated intervention than what we have done over the years for the restoration and putting in optimal condition of these buildings that are cultural monuments “, said Rama.

And the second, stressed the prime minister, we are working with the mayor of Berat and Gjirokastra is a special program to promote revitalization of these houses.

“It is not only restoration, but also revitalization. Turning their houses into an economic instrument not for the state, but for the owners”, said Rama.

“We are also working on a new measure for all emigrants who will be willing to invest in their homes, I am talking about houses in the countryside, on their land for agritourism or in investments. We are preparing the measure and I believe it will be part of the action plan 2021 2025./p.s./

In his remarks, the premier Rama stressed that, “following the construction of infrastructure and the road axis connection to the sea, this area will be soon subject to economic growth driven by agritourism.”

“Thanks to agritourism, this area will be soon subject to economic growth, based on old houses, fantastic nature, traditions, heritage in livestock and polyphony,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

The Prime Minister Rama noted that, government investments in infrastructure have been a long-standing demand of residents.

“Following the long-awaited investments, the whole area of Tepelena will turn into tourist perimeter center, from Gjirokastra to Vlora and down to Himara. And finally the dream of going to sea, from the top to the bottom in Borsh, became a reality,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

“In just a few years, all these abandoned houses will be turned into inns that will host people offering their traditional food. This will also increase the value of the property,” the premier Rama added. //a.i/
