At a press conference, responding to journalists’ questions about the impact of local currency appreciation on inflation trends, Ibrahimaj said that the appreciation of the lek, or the depreciation of the euro, had undoubtedly played a role in this regard.

“However, our analysis shows that imported inflation has eased in recent months, while it continues to account for a significant share of overall inflation in the country,” the minister stressed.

“Throughout 2026, inflation has remained under control. It is still slightly above the Bank of Albania’s target. Nevertheless, compared with other countries, inflation rate in Albania has remained stable and contained,” Ibrahimaj said.
