General Director of Industrial Property Rovena Beqiraj and General Director of the State Entity for Industrial Property of North Macedonia Blerim Idrizi signed in Tirana the cooperation agreement in the field of Industrial Property with the aim of further strengthening the cooperation between two counterpart offices.

“The signing of this agreement is a strategic obligation that the General Directorate of Industrial Property has set, to further strengthen bilateral relations at the international level with counterpart offices in the field of industrial property”, said Directorate of Industrial Property.

According to the Directorate, the counterparts expressed to each other their willingness to cooperate in this field in order to increase awareness of industrial property rights, thereby ensuring the most efficient implementation of these rights for the respective states. /p.s./

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited today the new Industrial Park, where enterprises have exhibition facilities for their products, as well as storage facilities. The park prioritizes commercial activity by reducing costs and administrative procedures, and combines wholesale and retail.

“Each silo is designed with a showroom where we display the products and then they have warehouses in the back where they are packed,” said the park administrator.

Businesses operating in this new industrial park also benefit from the fiscal facilities provided for in the law on industrial parks.

“I was explaining a little about the fiscal facilities offered by the law for industrial parks; at the moment they apply to be beneficiaries, both developers and users, users are all businesses that come and invest like this; there is a large number of benefits such as the exemption from VAT and export taxes, i.e. 50% profit tax payment for the first 5 years, the expenses for salaries and social and health contributions for the first fiscal year are recognized at the rate of 150%. So, there are some facilities that help business”, said the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Olta Manjani.

PM Rama emphasized the significance of increasing salaries of the employees.

“If you are going to survive in business today, there is no quality, if you do not pay a decent salary, understandably reasonable in the standards of our economy, but dignified. The salary is very important, we are very worried at this stage because the work has become very critical and you know very well that everyone is fighting for a job”, stressed the prime minister.

The prime minister considered important the possibility to maintain the workforce in the country.

“What is important, which I am also seeing here, is that many employees are young and this is a very important basis because what is happening today with the façon industry, the salary that was the highest in Albania was 10,000 old lekë, and the façion started with 50,000 old lekë and it was a very big thing. All those girls at that time who entered and now have become grandmothers and are retiring little by little and are leaving the sewing machine”, said Rama.

The prime minister emphasized the transition of this industry to “Made in Albania”, in order to ensure dignified wages./p.s./
