In a post on social media, Tabaku emphasized that, “the prices of food products and the basic basket have increased by over 10%.”

“As the economy is projected to grow at a sluggish 2.2% rate, the government took the next step; socialist taxation 23% of middle class income. It actually increased the fiscal burden on the entire middle class by 20 million euros after making their life a living hell for 10 years. The outlook of economic growth and economic development is at a minimum level because the system in place is neither feasible nor merit-based,” she said.

Therefore, Tabaku continued, “even the increase of the average salary by order of the government is neither beneficial in the long term nor does it solve the real problem that threatens the economy: emigration and the economic quagmire we have slid into since 10 years ago.”

“Reforms a majority government is expected to carry out should focus on: competition, free market, meritocracy and a fiscal policy centered on the citizen, not on oligarchy. These reforms require courage and political will; both are traits that the minority government lacks. Therefore, their way out is socialist taxation, socialist inflation and an economy where 95% of Albanians are taxed to support 5% of the oligarchy,” said Tabaku.
