TIRANA, Nov 26 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama on Tuesday condemned the incitement of violence through television platforms and websites, highlighting that addressing violence and bullying in schools requires the engagement of all relevant parties.

During a public consultation with parents leading Parent Councils and members of school councils from various schools in Tirana, discussing the ban or restriction of TikTok and Snapchat platforms, Rama emphasized that resolving the issue requires the collaboration of all parties involved.

It is needed an intermediary space between school and home, where students can interact through activities to mitigate the negative impact of uncontrolled and unregulated social media.

The point is that addressing the issue of violence and bullying in schools requires collaboration from all parties involved. No single person or group can tackle the problem on their own. If even one part of the system is missing or is not functioning, the issue will not be resolved, no matter how well other parts are working. Therefore, everyone must work together to identify and address these problems promptly and effectively.

Rama said that there are many cases of children with social problems or sociopathic tendencies who require immediate intervention from all the other components involved.

“We need to do the opposite of what much of the media is doing by unleashing the energy required to move things forward more swiftly. It is both unjust and unfair to stir anxiety and panic without facts, and to openly instigate violence on television platforms as is the case of individuals and entities that should be encouraging the opposite. We’re not referring to political forces, but to social forces and the media, which has the noble responsibility of informing the public. However, these forces have gotten tangled up, confusing TikTok with television channels and websites, all in the pursuit of attracting audiences. Because who attracts the most viewers? Naturally, it’s the one who breaks the piano to gather attention, not the one walking peacefully down the street,” stated Rama.
