Minister Balla, who is in Madrid, Spain, where he signed a memorandum of understanding, said that this operation is also an answer to the skeptics about the arrest of the “heads” of crime.

“I congratulate SPAK and the special prosecutors who led the investigation. I thank the State Police for the execution and the rest of the investigation which resulted in a successful operation,” Balla said, responding to the media.

“It is an important operation that is also related to crime bosses in Albania who are involved in criminal activity not only in Albania, but also in several European countries, including Spain,” said Balla.

“I wish that such operations continue and consolidate even further to end the culture of impunity for elements of criminal groups. This is how we give an answer to those who often ask ‘what about the heads, what about the heads’. I believe that this is one of those cases where the answer speaks for itself”, said Balla.

The media reported that since the early hours of the morning, a police operation has been taking place in cooperation with BKH agents, by order of SPAK. According to the media, the operation executed 43 arrest warrants for persons involved in organized crime. The operation is concentrated in several areas of the country: Lezhë, Fushë Krujë, Nikël, Kurbin, Durrës, Shijak and Tirana.
