Minister Balla stated that the time of impunity will come to an end, regardless of where the persons declared wanted by the Albanian justice act or hide.

The meeting also dived into the theme of cooperation as part of the joint investigative teams, a work that has achieved the best results among non-EU countries.

In a post on his social media account, Minister Balla emphasizes that “Albania has the best results among non-member countries of the European Union, but also in comparison with EU countries during 2023 when it comes to the new joint investigation teams. We had 6 teams during 2023 and 12 more during 2024 and we are in the process of signing a JIT with Ecuador with Italy as the leading country.”
The Minister went on saying that the State Police have participated in all joint investigative teams with this EU institution.

“The time of impunity will come to an end, regardless of where the persons declared wanted by the Albanian justice act or hide. Most of the joint investigation teams are investigating narcotics trafficking, cybercrime, human beings trafficking and terrorism. The State Police are also part of all investigative teams,” Minister Balla underlined.

EUROJUST is the EU’s law enforcement agency for cooperation in the fight against serious cross-border crimes.
