TIRANA, Sept 26 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has seen first-hand the new investment for high-tech imaging in the Regional Hospital of Elbasan, where she stated that the network of medical imaging equipment in hospitals and outpatient clinics is being strengthened.

“We are moving in parallel in several directions, not only in terms of upgrading the existing fleet of imaging equipment, but also of increasing the technology of the radiology service. In addition to the investment worth 4.2 million euros throughout Albania to strengthen the radiology service with 18 new X-ray imaging devices, 4 scanners, a new angiograph that is being installed in the new Hospital of Internal Medicine at QSUT, we are increasing the capacities of our medical teams and their staff. Five doctors have joined the staff of Elbasan Hospital, part of the team of 100 young doctors attached to regional and municipal hospitals,” said Manastirliu.

Speaking about new investments, Manastirliu said that “the 2023 budget includes an investment in the outpatient clinic, which will improve the service for the citizens of Elbasan as well as diversify outpatient services in the outpatient clinic as we want to expand the capacities and the range of medical imaging devices.”

As part of the plan to manage COVID-19 and health emergencies, investments are being made in university, regional and municipal hospitals for upgrading the fleet with high-tech bio-medical devices, worth 4.2 million euros.
