TIRANA, May  29 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, presented on Monday at the Labor and Social Affairs Committee the amendments to the law “On social housing.”

Ibrahimaj announced that the changes, among other things, ensure the expansion of beneficiaries’ base with the category of employees in the public administration, young people and young families.

“Through the changes, we are addressing one of the current challenges facing not only our country, but also the EU countries – the exodus of the middle class and the deterioration of their economic situation, providing support for young families, young people and employees of the public administration, who have spent time and capital in education and who contribute to the country’s economy,” said the minister.

According to her, in addition to the measures that the Government is taking to increase wages, the governing program 2021-2025 is intended to address the need of young families for housing and create more opportunities and security for young people to raise a family and build the future in their home country.

The minister emphasized that the legal changes propose the addition of a new chapter that addresses the support with soft loans for the housing of public administration employees.
