In her remarks during Thursday’s plenary session, Ibrahimaj said that “the government has introduced social packages in support of the needy strata and citizens and has doubled the minimum wage to offset the costs of the crisis that has driven up the price of energy and inflation.”

“Amid this situation, we have introduced social packages to support consumption in the country. We have increased financial liquidity and have not changed the price of electricity for family subscribers and businesses,” said Ibrahimaj, as she pointed out that the social package shields citizens and 99% of businesses.

“The Ministry of Finance and Economy maintains its focus on fiscal consolidation and reduction of public debt, which will be pushed down to the level of 69% by the end of the year. The Albanian government has subsidized various categories and expanded investments, which has translated into economic growth buffering the effects of the crisis,” stated Ibrahimaj.

Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced on Friday that, “we are in the process of reviewing the budget and analyzing all the data regarding consumption or disposable household income.”

“At the end of the budget revision process, we will come up with the package that is expected to benefit the category of businesses and individuals that need support the most,” said Ibrahimaj.

“We will not make any changes to fuel taxes. We will come up with an anti-crisis package”, Ibrahimaj declared.
