During its November 26 meeting, attended by representatives of ICITAP and the European Union, the Selection Commission resolved to recommend to the High Prosecutorial Council the appointment of Joni Keta as Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) for a five‑year term.

Prior to casting their votes, the members of the High Prosecutorial Council will examine the scores achieved by the other candidates during the competition, together with the formal requirements. The National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) was previously led by Aida Hajnaj, who held the post from 1 September 2020 until 1 September 2025.

The mission of the National Investigation Bureau is to safeguard the interests of the state and the Albanian citizens by ensuring the enforcement of the law through high‑quality investigations into criminal offences related to corruption and organised crime. Operating under the guidance of the Prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Office, its purpose is to prevent, uncover, and combat corruption and organised crime.
