At a media statement, Ahmetaj said that the first decision is about the allocation of funding to Tirana municipality to speed up the process of reconstruction in “5 Maji,” “Kombinat” as well as public infrastructure.

Another decision paves the way for expropriation in the Municipality of Vora as part of the reconstruction process.

He explained how individual housing and apartment units will be delivered in 11 municipalities of the country after post-earthquake reconstruction.

“The delivery of individual housing units and apartments for families affected by November 26 earthquake will kick off on November 25. This is the first phase of this process, ” Ahmetaj said, while outlining the procedures of housing delivery.

“The decision clearly describes the transparent way of distributing the apartment stock, starting from families on state benefit, single mothers, lonely elderly. For the rest it will be operated by transparent public lottery, which will be run by local governments.”
