TIRANA, Aug 27 /ATA/ By 20:00, the Ministry of Defence reported eight fire outbreaks nationwide, of which five remain active, two are under monitoring, and one has been fully extinguished. To manage the situation, local and central operational structures have been mobilised, including emergency services, the Armed Forces, forestry and police units, municipal teams, and volunteers. Two Armed Forces helicopters have also been deployed in support of ground operations.

On Mount Dajti, following the reactivation of three fire hotspots, 20 firefighters and forestry personnel were deployed, supported by one Armed Forces helicopter. Operations have continued in difficult terrain, with the blaze still active. The largest ground deployment has been recorded in Dibër County.

At Qafë Helmës, 27 personnel were deployed — including eight from the Bulqizë emergency service, nine from the forestry service, and ten volunteers — working with firebreaks and backpack pumps. In Vajkal, firefighting units were joined by four forestry staff, five police officers, six municipal workers, 13 service‑sector personnel, and 13 volunteers. Due to strong winds, the operation was also supported by one Armed Forces helicopter.

In Sllatinë, Dibër, 10 firefighters, four forestry staff, five administrative unit personnel, and seven volunteers were deployed. Due to the rugged, mountainous terrain, forces moved with 4×4 vehicles, while the operation was also supported by one Armed Forces helicopter. In Arrmollë, four personnel and a water tanker were engaged, successfully stabilising the situation without risk to nearby homes.

In Ungrej, Lezhë, two fire engines with seven operational staff, six municipal workers, and four volunteers were deployed, successfully extinguishing the blaze. In Elbasan, fire hotspots on Mount Dardha and Mount Qukës remain under observation, with no threat posed to residential areas.

The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) continues to oversee the situation nationwide around the clock, working in close coordination with prefectures, municipalities, and all structures of the Civil Protection system.

Operational capacities remain deployed on the ground and on standby to respond wherever required, with priority given to safeguarding lives, homes, and citizens’ property,” the Ministry of Defence said in its press release.
