TIRANA, Nov 18 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has inspected the works that have started for the reconstruction of the 3-storey building of internal medicine and the construction of the bridge connecting the central building of the University Trauma Hospital.

“This investment enables more expansion in terms of aspects of various services that this hospital offers, in addition to those of trauma. Internal diseases from the point of view of the hospital organization need to increase capacities. So these radical investments are designed to improve patient services. And of course in our hospital plan they improve the quality of the Trauma hospital services in synergy with the whole chain of our hospitals, “said Manastirliu

During the inspection of the works, Manastirliu said that investments in the university hospitals of Tirana have gained momentum.

“Out of five hospitals in Tirana, investments are in progress in four of them. We will continue with the 2022 budget by opening new construction sites, rehabilitating the Infectious Diseases Hospital, to format it into a truly center of excellence for infectious diseases. For all the work they are doing, they deserve to have even better infrastructure and hospital conditions. We will move ahead with the rehabilitation and restructuring of the National Blood Transfusion Center. “As part of the mother and child program, investments will continue in the maternity hospital ‘Queen Geraldine’, the pediatric hospital in Elbasan, the maternity hospital and the regional hospital in Kukës”, said Manastirliu.

The Minister of Health has seen up close another important investment in the Trauma Hospital, the new laboratory, an investment that is being extended to 18 hospitals across the country.
