In an interview with ATA, the director of this hospital, Rudina Degjoni made an overview of the first 6 months of work, saying that “the citizens of southern Albania have accessed over 28 thousand hospital services”.

In 6 months, according to Degjoni, “8171 outpatient services and 7242 imaging services were offered free of charge through appointment system.”

Also, the director of the Fier Memorial Hospital said that 441 neurological examinations have been carried out.

The novelty of this hospital, according to Degjoni, is the establishment of a “fast-track” system, whereby patients can schedule visits online through the hospital’s website.

Degjoni also said that a form of telemedicine is currently being used, through online connection with doctors.
