Holta Canyon is a year-round popular tourist destination. The number of visitors and adventure tourism enthusiasts exploring attractions and breath-taking landscape increases significantly during the warmer spring and summer days.

Holta River, with its magnificent three-km long canyons, which starts from the village Bardhan to the village Kobash, while the slopes of the valley climb up to 100 – 150 m and water depth is estimated up to 3 m, is one of the gems and natural beauties in the area of ​​Gramsh. Its fairy tale like swirls, twists and turns can leave you breathless.

On the canyons’ steep slopes there are many unexplored karst caves suitable for adventurous explorations by naturalists and climbers. Near the canyons there is Kabash cave created by limestone rocks with numerous karst phenomena, stalactites and stalagmites with rare beauty.

In addition to the river with its amazing canyons, the area’s mountain slopes are covered by lush forests with rare trees, including maple, fir, pine and many rare species of animals and birds.

Holta remains a largely unexplored tourist area because of its rugged terrain, but that doesn’t deter height adventurers.

The area of Gramsh is home to many monuments of nature and history of antiquity, natural resources such as Sotira Waterfall, which are visited regularly, especially in the summer season.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared Tuesday images showing Holta Canyon and inviting tourists to explore this gem and natural beauty in the area of ​​Gramsh.

“Holta’s Canyon, shaped by the Holta River’s erosion, offers a perfect destination featuring steep slopes, and thermal water craters,” PM Rama said.
