Representatives of these global companies are on a several-day tour across Albania to explore the country’s natural wonders, history and traditions, unique tourist attractions and opportunities for film sets and international co-productions as the country is emerging not just a popular destination, but also a reliable partner for top rated film production companies.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media on Sunday to share pictures showing top film production executives visiting the city after picking Gjirokastër as the setting for their movies.

“Hollywood arrives in Gjirokastër as the city is now not only our pride, but also a magical setting where history and passion meet the eyes of the world,” PM Rama wrote in a post on the social media.

“Top film production executives from Warner Bros, Amazon, HBO, Disney, Paramount, NBC Universal – saw firsthand a place where God was the architect and man built the magical setting for the art of the image, with the opportunity to include it on the map of world movies,” Rama said.

These field trips by the representatives of major film production companies will pave the way for new projects, investments and collaborations that could turn Albania into a new film hub in Europe.
