TIRANA, Aug 21 /ATA/ -The small port town of Himare, renowned for its fabulous beaches along the stunning Riviera in southern Albania, remains a popular destination for holidaymakers, who praise high quality services, clean beaches, security and a myriad of diverse local events.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media to share images showing Himare beaches, a top destination for a large number of local and foreign visitors in August.

The video posted by the government head also shows a large space of public beaches.

Himare, with its captivating panorama and Mediterranean climate, is rightfully considered one of the most esteemed coastal tourist destinations in Albania.

The ancient city of Himare and its commanding hilltop castle stand as testament to the rich historical legacy of Albania. These ancient structures date back to Illyrian times and are revered as vital historical landmarks in this region. The old town of Himare is ingeniously laid out around the ancient castle and the Spilea coastal area, which serves as both a tourist hub and an economic center for the region.

Tourists can visit the old castle, as well as dozens of ancient churches and other cultural heritage sites.
