Prime Minister Edi Rama announced in a social media post that work is ongoing on Lot 1 of the Tirana-Durrës highway expansion.

Meanwhile, the Albanian Road Authority announced that following the relocation of landscape, work has started to excavate the roadway and fill it with material.

Furthermore, work is progressing on enhancing the roadside ditch and stabilizing the roadway in the area referred to as “Qafa e Kasharit.”

Work on the expansion of the highway has started in the first two lots: the Kamzë-Vorë turn and Vorë-Sukth segments, for which the winners have been announced. The project is set to be completed within the next two years. During this period, the highway will not be closed, but speed limits will be enforced to ensure the safety of both the construction process and travelers.

As part of this project, existing vegetation were relocated from the highway to the Artificial Lake Park, ensuring not only the improvement of the infrastructure but also the preservation of urban greenery.
