With the completion of this path, a new tourist site will be added to the city of Berat for all hiking enthusiasts, as well as another window to get acquainted with the cultural and historical values of the city.

“The results expected to be achieved through this project are the decorative lighting of the entire cultural itinerary of the Hermit path, the increase of access to the path and near some of the main monuments along the Hermit path such as St. Michael’s Church, Water Gallery and the hermits caves,” the mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo told the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA).

“Also, it is expected that the number of visitors to increase by at least 30%,” Demo added.

The Hermits path is an attraction in the city of Berat which is undergoing rehabilitation and expected to enrich the recreational life in the city, as well as to increase the tourist offer.

“The path starts from the St. Mary Cathedral near the main road, at the end of the southern part of the Kala neighborhood. It further meanders through a picturesque view to end at St. Michael’s Church which is located carved in the middle of a steep cliff.

St. Michael’s Church (Kisha e Shën Mëhillit) is a church in the southern part of the Berat Castle. It became a protected cultural monument in 1948.The church dates from the 14th century. //a.i/
