TIRANA, June 25 /ATA/ The picturesque village of Boga, located 47 kilometers from Shkodra, hosted the second edition of the “Shepherd’s Festival” this past weekend—a cultural and tourism-focused event celebrating local traditions.

Having evolved into a tradition in recent years, the festival is drawing growing attention and gaining greater prominence with each edition.

Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, the event showcased the values, traditions, and heritage of the Boga region.

The “Shepherd’s Festival” is a traditional celebration that promotes the cultural heritage of the Albanian highlands, rich with authentic Albanian motifs and treasures that resonate with our UNESCO-recognized culture: Transhumance, Xhubleta, and the Tropoja Dance.

The “Shepherd’s Festival” also serves as a promotion for Boga, aiming to attract as many domestic and international tourists as possible.

During the two-day event at Bajraktari Tower, attendees witnessed demonstrations of livestock migration rituals, enjoyed exhibitions of traditional cuisine and local products, and viewed displays of authentic folk costumes.

The atmosphere was enriched by artistic groups from Malësia, Shkodra, and Lezha, Southern polyphony ensembles, and renowned artists from Malësia e Tuzit.
