Grapshi, known to the public as the “Grandfather of Fairy Tales,” passed away yesterday at the age of 94.

“A cherished figure in the performing arts and a ‘Merited Artist,’ he left an invaluable legacy through his dubbing work, lending his voice to countless characters in animated films and radio fairy tales. His contributions remain a cherished part of our cultural heritage. Rest in peace, master,” Gonxhja wrote on social media.

Grapshi performed in over 160 productions at various puppet theaters. He generally played leading roles and became beloved by children through characters such as Shvejk (1957) and Ivan the Great (1959), particularly for his portrayal of Baba Viti (1987).

He gained the most recognition and affection as an actor at the Tirana Puppet Theater, where he also made his greatest contributions.

His contributions to children’s theater and his support for the art of puppetry made him a beloved and respected figure in the Albanian artistic community.
