TIRANA, May 24 /ATA/ – The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja hosted Harvard University student on a study visit to Albania on Saturday.

Minister Gonxhja took to the social media to share images from meeting with Harvard University Students at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana.

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation said that meeting focused on creative industries, a nascent sector in the country that is constantly growing and attracting an increasing number of young Albanians.

Gonxhja shared experiences on the role of culture in economic development and brought concrete examples of success, which are placing Albania on the regional map of influential cultural events.

“Tirana Training Center”, a new training hub for film and audiovisual production at Albania’s former movie studio complex, Kinostudio “Shqipëria e Re” (New Albania), is set to become a catalyst of the country’s creative industry, providing fresh opportunities for many young talents.

Inaugurated in early January 2025, the centre is already becoming operational with several companies operating in the cinematography and audiovisual production industry in Albania.

Developed with the support of the United States, the centre will offer professional courses in acting, directing, animation, production, and screenwriting to young talents across the country.

This training centre can host over 400 students at a time to train them on creative industry and establish links of our industry with the global movie industry giants, including HBO, Netflix, Warner Bros, Paramount, Disney and many others through the assistance from Catalyst Story Institute.
