TIRANA, Sept 26 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the ongoing proceedings at the Special Court in The Hague, where former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army are being tried.

Rama shared a video on social media, excerpted from a court session, featuring Haxhi Mazreku, a former unit commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

Rama posted the video with a sarcastic comment in the caption below: “Unbelievable where they dug up this ‘serious’ witness — international justice, truly top-notch.”

In the video footage released, the witness expresses his opinion that “the KLA was like the shepherds of old times.”

According to the testimony at the Hague trial, the witness stated that “the bad shepherd led the goats to the wolf’s den.”

Mazreku was among the witnesses called by the prosecution.
At the same time, in The Hague, the defense’s witnesses are still giving their testimonies.

Just days ago, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague heard testimony from former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Rubin and Paul Williams, who served as legal advisor to the Kosovo delegation during the Rambouillet negotiations.

The defense began the presentation of evidence on September 15, with Thaçi’s legal team set to present 11 witnesses in total, followed by two additional witnesses anticipated to testify for Jakup Krasniqi’s defense.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi are accused of alleged war crimes. They have been in pre-trial detention since November 2020.
