Historian Pëllumb Xhufi, speaking about the figure of Gurakuqi, said that there is no greater honour for this ministry than to name this hall after him.

Special guest in the ceremony was also the poet and director Nikolin Gurakuqi, the offspring of Luigj Gurakuqi, who expressed gratitude that one of the most important halls in the Ministry of Education will be named after his great-grandfather.

In his remarks, Ditmir Bushati, underlined the importance of recognizing and paying tribute to the work of those who contributed to Albania and the future of young generations.

The bust was unveiled by Minister Kushi and the talented sculptor Benard Lekgegaj, a teacher at the Art High School in Tirana, who made this bust on the occasion of Gurakuqi’s anniversary to donate it to this ministry.

Actor Kastriot Çaushi, at the same time rector of the University of Arts, gave a moving rendition of Noli’s Elegy for Luigj Gurakuqi entitled “DEAD IN EXILE.”

Present at this activity were rectors of public universities, heads of pre-university educational facilities, as well as officials of the Ministry of Education and Sports.
