Rama in his “Let’s Talk” podcast: Program for support of guesthouses in mountainous areas

TIRANA, June 8/ATA/ The development of mountain tourism has become government priority and it has started a program aimed at supporting the network of guesthouses in the mountainous areas.

Episode 20, of season 3, of the “Flasim” (Let’s Talk) Podcast, “Ladies from two mountain peaks”, was dedicated to this very topic. Fatmira and Arjola were the guests of Prime Minister Edi Rama in this podcast. They have opened guesthouses in Gur i Bardhë of Mat and in Nivica, in the highlands of Labëria.

The prime minister emphasized that these are two stories that until a few years ago would have seemed unimaginable and today they are two success stories.

Rama took the opportunity to announce that the government is finalizing a program to support the network of guesthouses in the mountains.

“We are moving towards finalization of the program that we may call something like “Mountains Package” and we will provide support for the network of guesthouses in the mountainous areas. We are negotiating with the banks so that the banks provide us with loans where the main burden is on the state”, said Rama./m.m/p.s./

TIRANA, Dec 28 /ATA/ – The village of Lepushe, Malesi e Madhe, in north-western Albanian district of Shkoder, seen as a gem of the Albanian Alps being home to a stunning alpine landscape and some of the most breath-taking scenery in the region, has become an important year-round destination for a growing number of visitors.

Prime Minister Edi Rama on Thursday shared images showing the mountainous village, where a series of investments in agritourism enterprises and guesthouses, coupled with reconstruction of the road infrastructure, are promoting Alpine tourism.

Lëpusha is regarded as gem of the Albanian Alps. Located in a dramatic scenery, a green valley surrounded by high rocky peaks of Shenik of Accursed Mountains range and stunning landscapes, this hamlet is just amazing.

A number of guesthouses and other agritourism projects have been developed through the assistance of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency in the past few years.

The snow-capped peaks of the Albanian Alps and breathtaking alpine landscapes attract an increasing number of nature and adventure travel enthusiasts.

Grunjas in Pogradec, oasis where agribusiness and guesthouses are developing

TIRANA, June 28 /ATA/ – Pogradec is a small resort city on the hilly shores of Lake Ohrid is attracting a growing number of local and foreign visitors.

The city’s tourist offer is being expanded in the recent years by the revitalization of the surrounding rural areas, which with natural beauties and investments in guesthouses are attracting special interest of tourists.

Only 6 kilometres from the national road between Pogradec and Korça lies the village of Grunjas or Verçun. The village is home to natural beauties, picturesque landscape, historical sites, and traditional cuisine offers many opportunities for adventure, water, mountain and historical tourism.

Local residents have already started to invest in family tourism businesses and guesthouses, turning Grunjas into a tourist oasis, which serves traditional cuisine with locally grown fresh produce and offers accommodation.

Agritourism is a good opportunity for the development of this area, where investments in public works, rural roads, water supply are not lacking and natural beauties are fanatically preserved by local villagers.
