During the protest in support of the former KLA leaders who are being tried at The Hague, Gucati said that, “We are protesting today to raise our voices for justice”.

“We are here to defend the holy war of the KLA, to hold in high esteem and honor our liberators and the blood shed for freedom. The KLA does not need to prove that it was a liberation army. History, the people, the graves of the martyrs and the international community are aware of this. The whole world saw with its own eyes the Serbian crimes in Kosovo”, he said.

Gucati said that, “Today, through this certain kangaroo court, they are trying to equate the victim with the executioner”.

“They want to tarnish our holy war, but we will not allow and will not accept the name of our commanders to be defiled,” he said.

Gucati emphasized that, “This protest is not related to politics, but it is a protest of the Albanian people.”

“We are not asking for mercy, we are asking for justice before the law and history. Tirana is today the capital of all Albanians. Today, from here, we are telling the world: Kosovo fought for freedom; they were not criminals, but our sons of this nation who gave everything for the homeland,” he said.

Therefore, Gucati continued, “We declare today that the Special Court has lost the Albanians’ confidence.”

“The trial being held in The Hague is one-sided and unfair. This protest is the call of our national conscience. True justice is not afraid of the truth and we are here to defend it,” Gucati said.

The protest in support of the former KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague was held this afternoon at “Skanderbeg” square in Tirana”, where thousands of citizens from Albanian-speaking space and the Diaspora honored the sacrifices of KLA soldiers and leaders, whose struggle with the support of international partners brought freedom and independence to Kosovo. /p.s./
