The building of the former Command of the Republican Guard will be transformed into the “Heritage for All – Guard” center, thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality of Tirana and the Albanian Heritage Center.

The revitalization of this building and its transformation into a self-sustaining cultural center for fostering creativity through culture and knowledge will enable the promotion of traditional values and unique cultural heritage. It will encourage artistic, cultural, and educational activities in the capital and create enabling environments for the development of disciplines in the fields of restoration, cultural and academic heritage, education, and the humanities.

To inspect the progress of the works, Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the site today, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor Anuela Ristani and representatives of the team working on the project.

“Each of these discoveries represents a unique historical period, starting from the Ottoman era. On one side, there are medals, while on the other, there are flags. The explanations are available in both Albanian and English, with plans to eventually provide them electronically. One of the halls will be permanent, featuring collections from multiple collectors, not just one person, highlighting Albania’s flags and medals across different periods. The other hall will feature both permanent and temporary displays, including art galleries and themed collections curated by various exhibitors.”

“The entire hall will be painted in red. Everything here is original, not replicas. It will feature a restoration laboratory, an Albanian studies library related to Albania, and collectible books—essentially for young people who are interested in catalogs and such items. It will be ready by March, with the goal of completing it before the tourist season, making it as attractive as possible for this summer,” the collector Artan Lame explained regarding how the exhibition spaces will be organized.

For his part, Prime Minister Rama stated that this museum will be an extraordinary attraction, offering information about the Albanian state in a highly original way.
