15 groups begin verifying flood damage in Durrës

TIRANA, January 6 /ATA/ The Municipality of Durrës has set up working groups of specialists to verify the damage caused to homes by the heavy rainfall.

Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako emphasized that, “The 15 groups set up go to every home where water has penetrated to assess the damage as soon as possible”.

Sako stated that all affected citizens will receive the appropriate compensation.

The city of Durrës was hit by heavy rainfall today at noon, causing flooding in several homes and various areas. Currently, 23 members and 8 vehicles of the Civil Emergency Support Base are engaged in Durrës, with 7 motor pumps in operation, of which 4 with high capacity for removing water and managing the situation. /k.s/j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, December 21 /ATA/ Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj extended today certificates of appreciation to the civil society groups for their work done during the year. In the meeting with civil society representatives, he expressed his gratitude for the cooperation, so far.

“Even in the most developed countries, the feeling of sharing the burden, especially for social issues, is the most just principle because no one has a monopoly, neither of charity nor of solving problems”, said Veliaj.

Balluku: 223 OSHEE working groups on ground

TIRANA, November 21/ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku said today that 223 working groups of the Electricity Distribution Operator (OSSHE) company are engaged on the ground all over the country to deal with possible breakdowns and provide electricity supply.

Balluku thanked OSHEE employees for their contribution, especially in critical situations, describing them as “silent heroes”.

Minister Balluku said that all OSHEE employees are on full alert until the bad weather situation normalizes.

During the last 48 hours, our country was engulfed by heavy rains, which caused problems in the supply of energy in some areas of the country, especially in the north. OSHEE teams are on the ground for any breakdown, providing energy supply to citizens. /k.s/p.s./

Fishing fleet, 32 licensed groups more

TIRANA, June 23 /ATA/ INSTAT reported that in 2021, there were 752 licensed groups that used to exercise fishing activity, 32 entities more than a year ago.

The port with the largest number of licensed vessels is the port of Durrës with 37.90% of the total fleet.

The port of Vlora has 31.12% of the total fleet number, followed by the port of Saranda with 14.76%.

Fishing ports with the lowest percentages of licensed groups for fishing are those of Lushnja-Fier with 2.26% and Himara with 1.73%.

Government policies are addressing particular support for funding investments in modernizing the fishing fleet in order to increase fishing and export. /j.p/p.s./
