Minister Anila Denaj announced that the farmers who will build a greenhouse from 0.2 ha to 2 ha receive support for the construction of new solar greenhouses.

The application deadline is November 8. The amount of benefit goes up to 15 million ALL per hectare for vegetable production greenhouses and up to 8 million ALL per hectare for table grape production greenhouses

They say that the interest in the local products of the area has been great, even this year the market has many demands both for export and for local consumption.

There are many demands for tomato, peppers, green beans and cucumber while there is no need for producers to find the market, but this year traders are looking for farmers.

For the first time so far, none of the vegetable products are being sold below 100 Lek per kg.

The Agricultural and Rural Development Agency brought today the example of the Green Central sh.p.k. Company in Fier, financed through the IPARD II program in the sector of fruit and vegetable cultivation in greenhouses.

Through the IPARD funds, it became possible to build a greenhouse and purchase equipment to enable new vegetable cultivation techniques, with the aim of producing quality products, within the required standards throughout the year.

This greenhouse has an area of 1 ha, but in total the IPARD II program has increased the area of crops in greenhouses by 66 ha.

The Agency of Agriculture and Rural Development, through the IPARD II program with the European Union funds in co-financing with the Albanian government has supported the fruit and vegetable cultivation sector in greenhouses through the three calls for applications.

The purpose of these investments is to ensure an increase in production yield through innovations and applied technologies, and to achieve quality standards in order to have competitive products in the country and abroad, throughout the year.

During the recent years, the farmers have significantly increased the production of fresh vegetables in greenhouses, thanks also to subsidies from two measures of the National Agriculture Support Scheme 2022, which address direct payments for agricultural input bills and financing 50% of the investment value in greenhouses.

With the support of Agency of Agriculture and Rural Development, there have been built so far 80 new modern high-tech solar greenhouses in 12 municipalities of the country, some of which have been transformed into the largest greenhouse complexes compared to countries in the region.

They lead the model greenhouses for the cultivation of vegetable seedlings, for the production of fresh vegetables, in Fier, Lushnja, Divjaka, Berat, Durrës, Vlora, while they have also been extended to Korça and Delvina.

With the support of the Agency of Agriculture and Rural Development through the IPARD program, farmers have also been supported to invest in the construction of automated solar greenhouses, which has boosted employment, has influenced the increase in production for export and increased income for rural families. /r.e/p.s./

According to her, the whole family is engaged in the work in the greenhouse, while she manages to sell all the vegetable production through the collection point, where a part of the products goes for export and a part for the local market.

In context of a growing market demand, there is an increasing interest in the greenhouse production.

Director of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development Frida Krifca gave the example of Indriti, a farmer in Kavaja, who, with the support of ARDA through the IPARD II Program, has built a modern greenhouse for the cultivation of various fruit seedlings.

During a visit to his farm, Krifca found Indrit taking care of the blueberry seedlings in his “Agrokorani” greenhouse.

“There are currently planted about 20 thousand seedlings, mainly fruit seedlings. Being a metal construction of 7 m high, the greenhouse offers more opportunities for the production of different crops,” said Krifca.

The greenhouse extends over an area of ​​7500 m2 and is a model investment located in Kavaja.

The agricultural sector is among the sectors with the largest contribution to the Gross Domestic Product, which gives about 20% of the GDP.

Meanwhile, the agricultural exports have risen from about $ 100 million to $ 400 million. /a.a/p.s./

He built in his hometown, Fier, a solar greenhouse for production of gherkins, small cucumber, quite on demand for export.

After hearing about support schemes for the agriculture, he applied for and became a beneficiary of subsidies from the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (ARDA) through the National Scheme.

Today, Julian manages to produce 120 tons of gherkins per season, destined for export. Thanks to the support of this investment, about 22 people are already employed. /j.p/p.s./

Farmers in Fier and Lushnje are involved in large scale greenhouse cultivation of grape, a highly-sought fruit in the international markets.

Deputy Prime Minister Erion Braçe said Thursday that Albania’s grape export is already underway with the practice of greenhouse cultivation of grapes in the country.

“I am told that Montenegrin customs officials do not believe that Albania grows grape during this season of the year. But this is true. This is happening in Myzeqe, where grape is being cultivated in greenhouses,” Braçe said.

Albania exports top quality grape to Kosovo, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro.

Meanwhile, the administrator of the company “Alba Agro” praised the support received from the government through lifting of the VAT on machinery and equipment. He said that thanks to this assistance we are getting ready for additional investment.
